Euphorbia japonica — Rare Japanese Caudiciform Hybrid Succulent

The Euphorbia japonica is a truly captivating caudiciform succulent, cherished by collectors for its compact, bonsai-like structure and refined Japanese lineage. This hybrid species, believed to originate from a cross between Euphorbia susannae and Euphorbia bupleurifolia, exhibits both elegance and resilience in a single living sculpture.

Its thick, corky caudex develops slowly over time, storing water and forming intricate textures that resemble aged tree bark. From the center rise slender, segmented green stems, which fan out gracefully, often tinged with red or bronze tones under strong light. During active growth, E. japonica may produce small yellow cyathia (flowers) that contrast beautifully against its sculptural body.
