Astrophytum myriostigma ‘Fukuju’ — The Blessed Star of Japan

The Astrophytum myriostigma ‘Fukuju’ (福寿, meaning “Blessed Longevity”) is a revered Japanese cultivar celebrated for its exquisite form, flawless geometry, and gentle energy.  Each plant forms a perfectly symmetrical five-ribbed body — smooth and spineless — with an elegant matte finish that glows softly under light.

Selective cultivation in Japan refined the Fukuju line into one of the most balanced and harmonious Astrophytum forms in existence.  Its surface may show fine silver flecking or remain clean and polished, depending on lineage, while mature specimens bloom with delicate golden-yellow flowers that crown the plant in warmth and light.
